Make Me Wanna-Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett has proven himself to be one of Young Country’s most talented artists. His songs are believable and full of new millennium country swagger.  The first time I heard the infectious, “Make Me Wanna,” I was in my car, and that was all it took.  I literally wanted to pull my car to the side of the road, open the door, get out and do the hustle.  It is just that kind of song.  I never get tired of hearing it, and as new as it is to me, I get a sense of nostalgia every time it comes on the radio.

If Thomas Rhett is any indication of where Young Country is going, I am loading up the saddle and preparing for a long ride.  I am sure I’m not alone.  Country music is an important part of music history and has strong roots in what we know as Americana.  However, it is evolving, and with that, a new fan base is emerging.  You can be anywhere in the world and hear a country song playing, or see someone dancing to a beautiful country melody. The cross-over appeal is staggering, and it is because of young artists like Thomas Rhett, who have a love and respect for country music without the fear of infusing other musical elements into his songs. The result? International appeal and the public demand to hear more from him and artists like him who open the door to country music in a way that is sure to engage the world.  That is what great music is supposed to do.
